Why my list validation so slow/stuck?

Average time of validation and factors on which it depends

The time needed to process the data depends on the domains we are reaching out to and on the size of the file. The average time Mailifier takes to process a list of 10,000 emails is 5 minutes.

Please note that sometimes you will see a significant slowdown after 80-90% of processed addresses while validating large lists. There is no cause for concern - the process did not "stuck", this situation is almost always caused by validating addresses of services using greylisting.

Greylisting is a method of defending e-mail users against spam. A mail transfer agent (MTA) using greylisting will "temporarily reject" any email from a sender it does not recognize. If the mail is legitimate, the originating server will try again after a delay, and if sufficient time has elapsed, the email will be accepted.

These delays cause lengthy address validation. Our algorithm leaves the verification of such addresses for last, giving priority in the queue to more "available" addresses.

The percent of processed addresses can be monitored in the header of the task card.
